SASA E-List FAQs
SASA E-Mail Discussion Lists:
These e-lists speed communications between all members at each SUNY State Operated and Community College campus, sending one message to everyone simultaneously to receive rapid feedback. Use the eLists when you have a question, need help from your colleagues, or have information to share. Only members who are subscribed can post messages to the list. Rich Bentley serves as SASA’s List Coordinator and the University at Buffalo has kindly hosted our lists on their Listserv system.
SASA has 10 active lists (each has a different eList addresses): eLists are established to mirror the SASA Workgroups. Services at each campus vary widely, but where possible, the goal is to have all SUNY State Operated campus represented on each list with a PRIMARY representative that will appear in the SASA Directory. Most of the eLists are open to additional staff members or supervisors that have a role in that service; There is no per campus limit on subscribers. Only the subscribers (an exact eMail address match) can post messages.

Business Confidentiality Protocol:
Never share the list subscribers or the SASA directory with external parties. The SASA directory is available on the SASA Website (www.sasany.org) but is intentionally not in an easily download-able format to prevent its dissemination/ sale to non-SUNY&ASC personnel. Treat the e-list address and subscribers’ e-addresses as confidential as reasonably possible. Get a sender’s permission before ever forwarding a list message to a non-SUNY or non-ASC destination. If a message is marked “confidential” by the sender, it is intended to NOT be forwarded to anyone.
Since campus e-mail systems vary throughout SUNY, there is no one set of instructions on how to use e-mail. Your best source for questions, instructions, and help on using your campus’s e-mail system is your campus eMail System Administrator or HelpDesk.
